About Space Simulator
Space Simulator is a free interactive model of the universe that runs in your web browser. You can explore the Solar System and the Milky Way, take a narrated tour, search for planets in real telescope data, and hear real recordings from space.
Everything you see is based on scientific data and real images. Nothing is made up for effect. Where the data shows something we cannot see directly, we say so.
Main data sources:
- NASA images, planet maps and mission sounds (NASA/JPL-Caltech, NASA Goddard and others)
- JPL Horizons for planet and spacecraft positions
- NASA's TESS mission, through the MAST archive and ExoFOP, for Planet Hunter light curves
- The NASA Exoplanet Archive for exoplanet properties
- ESA Gaia (ESA/Gaia/DPAC, CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO) for the Milky Way sky
- LIGO and the Gravitational Wave Open Science Center (CC BY 4.0) for gravitational-wave data
- Solar System Scope (CC BY 4.0) for some planet textures
The tour narration is generated with the open Supertonic (OpenRAIL-M) and Kokoro (Apache 2.0) voice models.
